From West Virginia to a New Family, Faith-based Movie Studio in Arizona

There is a new faith-based movie studio in town. JC Films is a family-friendly and faith-based studio located in Tempe, Arizona, to shoot 12 movies next year.
“Our goal is to do between 6 to 12 films here next year in Phoenix,” Jason Campbell, president of JCFilms, said. “We just want to be a hub … for people of faith to get together and make family-friendly content.”
First on Campbell’s docket is FORGIVEN, which stars actor Dean Cain and has already begun shooting.
“Telling a lot of personal stories, and no story is too small,” Cain said.
Campbell already operates a film production company in Bridgeport, WV that has already produced over 18 films with actor Dean Cain. "Bridgeport is always home. Our goal is to continue making more films in WV but to duplicate what we have accomplished at home here in Arizona," Campbell said.
Campbell hopes that his studio will provide faith content to a large market of believers in the U.S. and act as a potential kickstart for more movies based in Arizona.
According to FOX 10 Pheonix, “the Transformers franchise filmed scenes on Arizona highways in 2016, but legislation has stalled every year at the Arizona State Capitol to create tax incentives.”
“I don’t see any reason why that wouldn’t happen in Arizona,” Cain added. “It has better weather than Los Angeles, it’s got incredible areas and places to film that can double for anything. Whether it’s westerns or small towns, it’s a great place to film.”
Campbell also plans to cast his future projects with local actors and crew members.
“There’s so much talent here, and not even in front of the camera, behind the camera,” Campbell said. “Just an immense amount of talent.”
According to a press release, Campbell will source Arizona-based talent for FORGIVEN.
